Step back in time with this incredible piece of retail history. This is an authentic, full-size female mannequin by the world-renowned Belgian maker, New John Nissen. Dating from the late 1970s to early 1980s, she captures the bold and dramatic aesthetic of the era with her striking, hand-painted facial features and elegant, stylized pose.

This is more than just a shop fitting; it's a piece of sculptural pop art. Her beautifully aged surface tells the story of her past life, featuring a fantastic crazing to the face and a genuine patina that cannot be faked. This authentic character makes her a perfect statement piece for a stylish interior, a creative photography prop, or a unique display for a fashion-forward boutique.

Condition: Structurally sound and complete with both arms, hands and original circular base. Surface wear throughout: scuffs, scratches, crazing in the paint and scattered losses, particularly to the lips, fingers and around the joints. Base repainted and now heavily scuffed and chipped. Clean but left in honest, unrestored condition with a great vintage look.

Origin: Made in Belgium by New John Nissen Mannequins S.A., Brussels–Zaventem

Historical Context

John Nissen was one of Europe’s leading mannequin makers, supplying major fashion chains and department stores, and competing with Rootstein (UK) and Hindsgaul (DK). Zaventem, near Brussels airport, was their production base.
